DIRTY BEACHES | 10.10.2011 | BUSH HALL

DIRTY BEACHES aka Alex Zhang Hungtai returns to the UK this month for his second of European live dates. A sense of displacement, combined with an ear for cinematic sounds (particularly the eerie, stylized noir of David Lynch, Jim Jarmusch, Quentin Tarantino, and Wong Kar Wai) fuels his work, which squeezes the sounds of early rock’n'roll and 1950s music through a lo-fi, distortion-drenched filter. For this special UK one off show Alex will be joined by his Saxophone-toting buddy Frank as new band member.

Check Upset The Rhythm for more information.

Hungtai shows off his atmospheric sound scape capabilities with this exert of the film score he composed for ‘Water Park’  by Canadian director Evan Prosofsky.
